In search of a Business Developer for region Flanders

Do you like to work with a variety of companies and other actors in the innovation landscape? Do you like to think about technological innovation, the value it brings for the customer and the ‘customer of the customer’, and the impact on revenue models? Do you get a kick out of closing a deal? Then perhaps you are the Business Developer we are looking for to bring our innovation services to the market.

  • Through your market knowledge of the technology industry and by successfully managing the leads, you create business opportunities to set up and sell (often multidisciplinary) innovation projects to our target group of technology companies.

  • You explore ideas for new products and services and corresponding technological options. In co-creation with the company, you identify the leaps of knowledge, the necessary expertise (internal / external), and translate this into a strong project plan, the possible support by Sirris, and a corresponding quotation.

  • You represent the whole range of Sirris services at events, in meetings with companies or other stakeholders. You explore the client's wider potential (cross- and upselling).

  • You will build up market knowledge in relation to the Sirris portfolio, and insights into how to market it.

  • You will join the ‘Business Development & Innovation’ team, which is part of the corporate services, allowing you to collaborate with all technology programs within Sirris.

  • You will build an external network with customers, prospects, accounts and industrial and academic partners.


What do we expect from you?

  • You have a master's degree in engineering.

  • You have experience in sales or business development

  • You have a solid technological baggage and are interested in acquiring knowledge and insights in other technology domains in addition to your domain-specific expertise.

  • You have strong analytical skills to make the right diagnosis and respond effectively to customer needs.

  • Through your consulting and communication skills, you will be able to convince the external client/prospect to start up innovation projects with Sirris, as well as obtaining the buy-in from our internal experts.

  • You have project management experience.

  • You are enterprising and results-oriented.

  • You have good social skills that enable you to network (both externally and internally).

  • You are fluent in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
