As a Laboratory Technician, you are responsible for the operational management of the laboratory as well as the execution of mechanical tests on various materials, ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of results according to applicable standards.
In this role, you are responsible for the preparation, execution, and follow-up of mechanical tests carried out in the laboratory.
You prepare test specimens for mechanical testing, particularly for notched and unnotched impact tests. You perform standard mechanical tests in accordance with applicable standards, such as tensile, flexural, compression, creep, MFI, Vicat, HDT, as well as various specific tests. You also carry out tests on welded PE, including butt fusion, pull-out, compression, and peel tests, according to BELAC procedures.
You are responsible for bonding samples as well as performing peel, shear, and orientation tests according to customer requirements. You also perform aging tests such as UV, humidity, and temperature testing, as well as tests on composite materials.
You contribute to the development of non-standard tests in collaboration with different internal departments. You also manage strain gauge activities, from installation to data acquisition and processing. Finally, you analyze the results obtained and prepare test reports.
You ensure the proper functioning of the equipment and the accurate follow-up of all laboratory materials.
You carry out gas equipment verification according to internal procedures and manage tracking registration, barcode management, and data updates. You also coordinate with contractors by organizing deliveries, collections, and the preparation of related reports.
You organize and monitor the calibration of machines and tools, including transport, purchase orders, Odoo registration, and labeling. You also ensure machine maintenance, laboratory cleanliness and order, as well as the management of consumables.
You contribute to the daily operation of the laboratory and the coordination of activities with the team.
You organize the work together with colleagues and define priorities to ensure efficient laboratory management. You also provide logistical and technical support during visits and participate in research activities in collaboration with engineers.
You play a key role in technical support and direct customer contact.
You analyze customer requests and guide them toward the most appropriate testing solutions. You prepare commercial offers and organize customer meetings via Teams in collaboration with our internal services.
You actively contribute to maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with laboratory requirements.
You support the maintenance and development of BELAC accreditation through controls, meetings, and procedure updates. You also follow the evolution of applicable standards and laboratory equipment to ensure continuous improvement of testing methods and resources.
Technical degree or equivalent experience in laboratory work, materials, mechanics, or plastics processing.
Experience in mechanical testing and the use of laboratory testing machines.
Good knowledge of quality standards and ideally familiarity with the BELAC environment.
Accuracy, autonomy, strong organizational skills, and team spirit.
Good customer communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different departments.
You enjoy having a high degree of autonomy and have a strong sense of priorities.
You have an interest in continuous learning and adapting to new techniques.
You enjoy working on several projects simultaneously.
